by posted 05/03/2021

CBSL Picture Days are May 10, 11, 13!

Hi Everyone,

Picture day for CBSL is next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening.  The specific day/time for each team has been added to the team schedules on the CBSL website, along with the full schedule attached to this email, for your reference.

Note that the league changed picture vendors this year and is now using Bishop Photo and also switched to doing the pictures inside so that weather will not be a problem this year, like it has in years past.

Specific team dates/times can be found on the schedule for the team on the CBSL website

Abundant Life Church (85 Skinner Road)

Group Pictures:

Also, due to COVID, group pictures will be composites instead of taken as one full group shot, just like the class photos were at school.  Coaches for the teams should also get an individual picture taken so it can be part of the composite group shot that is essentially a page with the individual shots put together.

What to wear:

Players should wear their uniforms, but not their cleats.

How to Order:

To order pictures, follow the instructions below:

  1. Option 1 – use the paper form your coaches received and should be handing out to you.  Fill it in and bring it with you and hand it in when pictures are taken.
  1. Option 2 – do it online ahead of time
    1. Go to:  www.bishopphoto.com
    2. Click on the ‘Pre-order now’ tab
    3. Use our league order form code:   ColchesterLL2021
    4. Place your order and PRINT the receipt, bring it with you to hand in on picture day
    5. If you cannot print – write down the confirmation code # from the website at the end of your order and give that # to the photographer at picture day
    6. Bonus:  if you order pictures online ahead of time – a free gift of a photo calendar will be added to your cart at check-out

If there are questions or concerns, please let us know.

Thanks very much,

Fundraising Raffle!
by posted 05/03/2021

Sell those tickets!

Colchester Baseball and Softball League is running its annual fundraising raffle again this year in order to tackle some of the items on our wish list of improvements for the fields and facilities. Please read below to understand the fundraiser and your role in making it a success, along with the benefits that will be seen before the end of this year if it is!

First, please understand that CBSL is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Little League organization that provides a high-quality experience for over 400 children ages 4-16 years old.  CBSL derives its revenue solely through registration fees, sponsorships and clinics.  This revenue is enough to keep the league running, but not enough to do some of the various improvements we would all like to see to the dugouts, fields, equipment inventory, etc.  In order to augment revenue and give us the ability to tackle some of those improvement projects, CBSL has established the annual raffle fundraiser.

What do you need to do?

CBSL is asking each player to sell a book of raffle tickets.  Players that wish to sell more than one book of raffle tickets may do so.  Please see your coach who has access to extra raffle booklets.  Then turn in your sealed envelope with the ticket stubs, money, and left over tickets to your coach by the deadline.  Read below for more details.

In addition to helping the league, there are also some incentives that the kids can try to win for selling tickets.

1)      The player that sells the most raffle tickets will receives a prize - this year it's a $100 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods.

2)     Each player that sells a full book of tickets - 20 raffle tickets - will be entered into a drawing eligible to win a variety of prizes ranging from tickets to our local progressional baseball teams to various gift cards from local businesses.

3)     The team that sells the most raffle tickets will receive a prize as well!

Who to sell to?  Parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends, co-workers, etc...Parents must accompany player when selling the raffle tickets.

When do you have to sell the tickets by?  Deadline:  May 26, 2021

All sold and unsold raffle tickets and cash to be handed to your coach in the envelope provided by May 26, 2021.  Please seal the envelope.

When is the drawing?  Drawing:  May 30, 2021

At the Colchester Parks and Recreation Complex Field near R1.  Winners do not need to be present.

What will the league do with the proceeds?

All proceeds from this raffle fundraiser will be used to fund projects or purchases outlined on the league wish list that was generated through discussions at league General meetings. In the past, proceeds have funded projects such as repaired/replaced dugouts, batting cage at Cody Camp, new scoreboards being installed now in two fields, and various other field and equipment improvements.

If you have any questions, please see your coach.

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to making this a successful fundraiser.  Through your efforts, together we will make a positive impact on the lives of our children and community.
